    About the Artist

    The Beauty of Lines with Refined Elegance

    Glasswork artist Eiko Yoshimori deeply explores the harmony between the soft texture unique to frosted glass and the light within it. She established her original style, "glasswork with engraved line decoration", which is based on sandblasting with inspiration from traditional kirikane techniques. She expresses transitions that are not visible, such as the wind, scents, the flow of time etc. with delicate curves and meticulous hand-polishing to create elegant artwork. Her excellent skills and unique sensitivity have been highly evaluated. She received the Grand Award, MEXT Award, at the 29th Various Works Traditional Kōgei Exhibition in 2023, as well as the Osaka Prefectural Board of Education Award at the 55th Kinki Traditional Kōgei Exhibition in 2026. She has established a solid position as an artist breathing new life into the world of contemporary glass art.

    Style

    I produce glass artwork by sandblast engraving and hand polishing. The large theme of my art is pursuing the beauty of frosted glass. I think the texture of glass made from the delicate line engravings and hand polishing, and the reflection of light, bring out the charm of glass to the most. I want to make artwork that expresses the gentle shine and beauty of glass.
