    Biography

    • 1978
      Born in Imari City, Saga Prefecture
    • 2002
      Joined a pottery in Ohkawauchiyama
      Studied potter's wheel techniques under Seiroku Nakamura (Important Intangible Cultural Property of Saga Prefecture) for 5 years and Setsuzan Murashima for 5 years.
    • 2009
      Selected for the West Japan Traditional Kōgei Exhibition (selected and awarded several times from this year onward)
    • 2013
      Selected for the Tobiten ('13, '14, '16, '17)
    • 2014
      Selected for the Arita International Ceramics Competition (selected and awarded several times from this year onward)
    • 2015
      Designated as First Class Ceramics Manufacturing Specialist in hand-powered potter's wheel (National qualification)
    • 2017
      Selected for the Japan Traditional Kōgei Exhibition for the first time
    • 2018
      Selected for the “Arts of the Tea Ceremony” Exhibition ('18, '19, '29, '21)
      Becomes independent and builds his kiln "Aoki Pottery"
