Comment on Award

The motif of this incense burner is a red iris. After firing the glaze on the copper body, I applied strips of silver leaf to the center of the body, applied a transparent glaze, and fired it. Next, I applied silver leaf to the entire surface other than the middle, applied transparent glaze, and fired it again to add some depth. Then I added gold leaf cut into small pieces to the middle and some silver wire, fired it again, applied a red transparent glaze mixed with goldstone, translucent white glaze and transparent glaze and fired it again. After firing four times in total, I polished it. I made six holes in the lid to be in harmony with the design, applied silver leaf and wires, applied glaze, and polished it in the same way as the body. I made the knob of the lid by forming silver clay with the image of a bud, glazed and fired it and attached it to the lid. I will continue to dedicate myself to my work while exploring the expressive possibilities of cloisonné enamel.
