About the Artwork

* This piece is available in other colors. If you send an inquiry, we will introduce you to the colors that are currently available.

This design is a representative design made at my Cut Glass Workshop "Shinkou". At the base are traditional hexagonal wickerwork patterns cut in "Shinkou" style.

This is my 200th artwork, and it is a special piece in which I put all my heart and soul into, showcasing all the design skills I have cultivated up to this point.

The complex structure will captivate you with its beauty that needs no explanation.

The octagonal basket weave on the upper side is cut with the highest level of precision in Japan. Not only is the design itself beautiful, but there is also beauty of the techniques.

In the beginning I was thinking of a design using only the octagonal basket weave patterns, but I intuitively felt that the beauty would fade.

I changed some of the cuts to chrysanthemum basket weave, which is a difficult cut like a combination of kiku-tsunagi (interlocking chrysanthemum) and octagonal basket weave patterns, as an accent.

I also added more than 25 techniques to make this piece beautiful that I derived from my past experience.

Rather than explaining with words, I hope the users themselves will experience the essence of this glass as they use it, discovering something new with each use.

Kiriko cut glass

Kiriko cut glass is made by using rotating grinders or diamond wheels to cut geometric patterns and curves into the surface of finished glass vessels. The patterns are evened and finished with fine polishing stones. Edo kiriko and Satsuma kiriko are especially famous.
