Style
I specialize in creating new designs that fuse traditional Japanese cut glass (kiriko) techniques with originality.
I possess a broad intellectual curiosity that transcends the boundaries of cut glass, and these serve as the source of inspiration for my work.
I develop modern glass art with a narrative quality, such as "Tenkai Queen's Gambit," which expresses chess openings and piece promotions using cuts that mimic the chessboard, and "Midare Tamonyo Rock Glass," which is inspired by the ceilings of temples I visited on my pilgrimage.
I draw on knowledge from a wide range of sources, including various myths and other crafts, to help inspire my designs.
As a business owner, I plan to release large-scale works in the future, depending on the situation at my workshop (Kiriko Kobo Shinko), but currently, I only exhibit small-sized pieces such as rock glasses.
Although I have not received any awards as I have not exhibited any works, the fact that I have been able to make a living solely from cut glass work at a young age is the greatest proof of my skill.
