Klin effects
Kiln effects (yōhen) is a term that describes a wide variety of spontaneous expressions produced by the interaction of the kiln atmosphere and the surface of the vessel during firing, including oxidation and reduction effects. The cracks, flashing patterns, and natural ash glaze effects on unglazed wares such as Bizen and Shigaraki are famous examples of kiln effects.

Comment on Award
I tried to make this piece with high-firing kiln mutation effects, using only clay and firing. In order to bring out the kiln mutation effects more beautifully, I made the jar round and was able to create a shimmering, starry sky with several mottled patterns and a glossy streak.
I am very encouraged by this award. I will continue to work harder to bring out the charms of clay, such as the strength of the material and its mysteriousness. Thank you very much.
