Klin effects

Kiln effects (yōhen) is a term that describes a wide variety of spontaneous expressions produced by the interaction of the kiln atmosphere and the surface of the vessel during firing, including oxidation and reduction effects. The cracks, flashing patterns, and natural ash glaze effects on unglazed wares such as Bizen and Shigaraki are famous examples of kiln effects.

Comment on Award

I am truly grateful to receive this extremely honorable award.
For the past few years, I have been trying to bring out kiln mutation effects using only iron-rich red clay. This was my first piece that I made by glost firing several times, and I am very happy to have received an award for this.
I will continue to work hard to pursue the possibilities of clay and build my own unique style. Thank you very much.
