About the Artwork
I created this piece using a specially beautiful part of persimmon wood from Okayama.
I put lead in the inside to make it heavy enough to be used as a paperweight. On putting in the lead, I combined persimmon wood and red sandalwood and used silver inlay in between as a part of the design.
I finished it with wiped urushi lacquer.
