About the Artwork
Using good quality, easy to handle maple wood, I wanted to make this a tray with beautiful smooth curves.
I was inspired by the form of the calla lily, and used this natural shape for my design.
As the balance of the color shades and polish is very important, I finished it with wiped urushi lacquer to bring out the best balance.
