MATSUO’s production is characterized by her broad-ranging style and works, from simple traditional glazes through to the ornate and modern. In her contemporary pieces she uses such techniques as neriage (marbling), kinsai (painting in overglaze gold¬), and saidei (painting on clay). She is also a much admired flower artist, especially among young women, and creates many ceramic pieces with floral motifs such as roses or cherry tree leaves.
