Comment on Award
I have been making artwork based on themes of under and above the sea, but this time I expressed the sea foam in the sea of Noto in winter on a hexadodecagonal vessel for the first time. On the top of the cover, I used the silver inlay technique. I carved the waves by changing the thickness of the lines, and created gradation by carving in dots and lines. I expressed the transformation of the sea foam with the flower patterns on the sides using makie and chinkin techniques. On the sides of the lower part of the box I expressed the blue waves with chinkin on the platinum and silver base. The box as a whole is black and white. By using platinum and silver, I expressed the sea of Noto in winter and the sea foam that look like flowers blooming in the raging waves in this hexadodecagonal vessel.
