I imagined distortion of space-time from the intricate, winding wood grain of Jindai cedar and its dark, natural color. I expressed the distortion with the gourd shape and with the wood grain in the persimmon wood pedestal which I formed in the shape of a dish to make the coffer look as if it were floating.
