About the Artwork

Applying straw ash glaze made mainly with straw ash and black glaze made from iron oxide and firing. Beautiful, delicate traces appear where the two glazes overlap. The results of the glazes are unpredictable, and are different every time they come out of the kiln. A beautiful mutation effect that cannot be made with pigments occurs by using natural material, straw and iron.
It can be said that Korean Karatsu is a creation of mutation effects.
I think the name "Korean Karatsu" has two origins. One means that it came from the Korean Peninsula. The other means that potters from the Korean Peninsula came to Karatsu and made them.
Maybe the masters of tea ceremony in the old days didn't know which, so they just called them "Korean Karatsu". Either way, I think "Korean Karatsu" was originally named in Karatsu.
