Echizen Ware (Echizen yaki) is a ceramic ware produced around Echizen Town, Nyu County, Fukui Prefecture. It is one of the Six Ancient Kilns in Japan and has been produced since the late Heian period. As it is fired at a high temperature without being glazed, you can enjoy the simple charm of the clay and the kiln mutation effects that occur within the kiln.
