  • 1948 Born in Kyoto
  • 1966 Graduated from Kyoto Prefectural Momoyama High School
  • 1968 Studied under Tadashi Shimizu of Gojozaka, Kyoto to become a ceramic artist
  • 1971 Graduated from Kyoto Prefectural Ceramists’ Vocational School
    Becomes lecturer at the Vocational School (technical expert of Kyoto Prefecture)
    Started research on Tenmoku at Gojozaka's communal climbing kiln
  • 1973 Selected for the 2nd Kinki Traditional Kōgei Exhibition for the first time
    Selected for the 20th Japan Traditional Kōgei Exhibition for the first time
  • 1976 Becomes Full Member of the Japan Kōgei Association
  • 1977 Retired from Kyoto Prefectural Ceramists’ Vocational School and focused on making ceramics
  • 1978 First solo exhibition at Central Gallery (Osaka)
  • 1980 Built a gas kiln at his home as the communal climbing kiln closed down
  • 1988 Studied under Uichi Shimizu at the Important Intangible Cultural Property "Iron Glaze Ceramics" Successors' Training Course (Continued training as a member of the "Kuukai")
