Biography
- 1957Born in Takamatsu City, Kagawa Prefecture
- 1976Graduated from Urushi Work Course, Kagawa Prefectural Takamatsu-Kougei High School
- 1977Studied under urushi-work artist MURAOKA Shigeki
- 1981Completed Researcher Program at Urushi Lacquer Ware Institute, Kagawa Prefecture
- 1983Developed lacquer board togidashi technique and later changed the name to irokiri urushi
- 2007Attended a successor training course of important intangible cultural property
(raden (mother-of-pearl inlay) technique) and received guidance in the thick shell mother-of-pearl
inlay technique from KITAMURA Shosai
