I make yūzen dyed kimonos using paste resist (itomenori) and dye. I want to make fun and beautiful kimonos with various motifs.

  • 1955 Born in Fukushima Prefecture
  • 1979 Studied under Genichi Wada at his studio in Waseda, Shinjuku
  • 1982 Moved to Kyoto, Started producing yūzen dyed kimonos with itomenori paste resist
  • 1994 Completed the Kyoto City Yūzenzome (hand drawing) Technical Training Course
  • 1995 Studied under Mitsumi Shimizu at Dyeing Group "Moegi-kai"
  • 1997 Selected for the 26th Kinki Traditional Kōgei Exhibition for the first time
    Selected 12 times from this year onward (The 31st – 32nd, 34th, 36th – 38th, 42nd, 44th, 46th – 47th, 49th – 50th)
  • 2006 Selected for the 40th Textiles Traditional Kōgei Exhibition for the first time, selected one more time at the 44th Exhibition
  • 2008 Selected for the 55th Japan Traditional Kōgei Exhibition for the first time
