I made much effort to make dolls like Ryujo Hori and Sonoo Noguchi. I want to make dolls that are unique rather than realistic.

  • 1970 Affected deeply by Living National Treasure Ryujo Hori's artwork. Asked for permission to become a disciple, but was not accepted.
    Studied under Ryujo Hori's leading disciple Michiko Iezato.
  • 1989 Studied under Ryujo Hori's leading disciple Chie Shigeta after Ryujo Hori's death
  • 1993 Selected for the Japan Traditional Kōgei Exhibition for the first time
  • 1996 Becomes Full Member of the Japan Kōgei Association
  • 2000 Judge and Evaluator at the Traditional Kōgei New Works Exhibition (2003, 2006 and 2017)
  • 2004 Solo Exhibition at Wako Art Salon (Ginza, Tokyo)
  • 2011 Dolls 4-person Exhibition at Ginza Wako Hall

  • 1996Received the Incentive Award at the 36th Traditional Kōgei New Works Exhibition
  • 1999Received the Incentive Award at the 39th Traditional Kōgei New Works Exhibition
  • 2021Received the Asahi Shimbun Award at the 30th Dolls Traditional Kōgei Exhibition
