Style
I use urushi carving techniques on dry lacquer base and make pieces with delicate plant and flower designs.
As I can form the vessel freely with dry lacquer, I have a flexible mindset from the stage of forming and I try to create a coordinated design.
I place importance on adding modernity to traditional techniques by using bright colored lacquer. I try to make my artwork appear peaceful and warm by adding softness and flexibility to the dynamism of urushi carving.
I have been on childcare leave for a while and started working again from 2024. I will continue to create my artwork and participate in exhibitions to broaden my expressive abilities.
