Toshie Komikado

Producing thin linen kimonos for the summer with jofu (high quality, plain-woven hemp cloth). Translucent kimonos with a smooth texture and refreshing look. Using hard-twist yarn to make textiles with crimps called shibo on the surface.

  • 1990 Started to produce intangible cultural property of Ishikawa Prefecture "Noto Jofu" (up to 1995)
  • 1993 Designated as technical trainee for the traditional industry in Ishikawa Prefecture
