Kiyoshi Kato

To make the brick red color of the red clay black, the vessels are carbonization fired (leaving the vessels in the kiln to cool down while reducing oxygen so that carbon settles on the surface), and deep colored glaze is used. Strips of clay are made, coiled, and combined to form the vessels.
