• 1982 Born as the first son of 13th Generation Tohbe Tahara
• 2005 Graduated from Tokyo University of the Arts, Faculty of Fine Arts, Department of Sculpture
  Received the Sugawara Award at the Graduation Work Exhibition
• 2007 Completed the Master's Course at Tokyo University of the Arts Graduate School of Fine Arts, Sculpture Course
  Part-time assistant at Yokohama College of Art and Design (– 2010)
• 2009 Selected for the Kobe Biennale 2009 Contemporary Ceramic Arts Competition
• 2010 Started training in Mino (studied under Seiya Toyoba)
• 2011 Started producing ceramics under his father
• 2015 Selected for the Japan Ceramic Art Exhibition (twice)
  Selected for “Arts of the Tea Ceremony” Exhibition at Tanabe Museum of Art (5 times)
  Submitted to "Hagi ware Today" (Hagi Uragami Museum, Yamaguchi)
• 2016 Selected for the Japan Traditional Kōgei Exhibition (7 times)
• 2017 Submitted to Gyeonggi International Ceramic Biennale 2017 (Yeoju, South Korea)
• 2018 Japanese tea ceremony in the Salon Gustave Eiffel, a program for Japonismes 2018 (Paris, France)
  Artwork exhibition and lecture at the Lyon CIty Hall (Lyon, France)
• 2019 First Solo Exhibition "Hagi – Takao Tahara Ceramics Exhibition" (Nihombashi Mitsukoshi Main Store)
