VI Naokata Ueda

I make Shigaraki ware tea utensils. I like to make things that are simple and not too loud, but have a significant presence.

  • 1979 Works at the climbing kiln for Shigaraki ware kiln Soutouen

    Adopted by 5th Generation Naokata
  • 1983 Graduated from Kyoto Prefectural Vocational Training School of Ceramics
  • 1984 Completed the Glaze Course at the Shiga Prefectural Institute of Ceramics
    Studies under Kenzo Koga at the Koga Tea Ceremony Culture Institute
