I produce kiseto (yellow seto ware), oribe and white glazed ceramics.

  • 1950 Born in Suwa City, Nagano Prefecture
  • 1974 Studies about glaze for 2 years at the Government Industrial Research Institute, Nagoya, Studies under WATANABE Isshin
  • 1979 Builds kiln "Rindo no Kama (Gentian Kiln) in Tamagawa, Chino CIty (Changes artist name to Sachiyo KOMATSU)
  • 1980 Selected for the East Japan Traditional Kōgei Exhibition, selected several times from this year onward
  • 1982 Selected for the Japan Japan Traditional Kōgei Exhibition, selected several times from this year onward
  • 1990 Studies under KATO Sakusuke
  • 1991 Selected for the Japan Ceramic Art Exhibition, selected several times from this year onward
  • 1992 Designated as Full Member of the Japan Kogei Association
  • 2000 Invited to submit to the "Modern Crafts of Shinshu" Exhibition sponsored by the Nagano Prefectural Shinano Art Museum (current Nagano Prefectural Art Museum)
  • 2003 Awarded as Person of Merit by Chino City for holding voluntary pottery classes at welfare facilities (1995 - 2009)
  • 2009 Selected as candidate for an award at the 20th Japan Ceramic Art Exhibition
  • 2012 Solo exhibition at Nihombashi Mitsukoshi Main Store 7 times (1995, 1997, 2000, 2003, 2006, 2009, 2012)
  • 2016 Pottery teacher at Tamagawa Elementary School, Chino City (Nagano)
  • 2019 Solo Exhibition at Inoue Department Store (Matsumoto Main Store)
  • 2020 Selected for the East Japan Traditional Kōgei Exhibition
  • 2021 Invited to submit to the "Meeting Kogei - The Flow in this Land" Exhibition (sponsored by Chino City Museum of Art)
