Kei Yasukawa

In his work YASUKAWA aims to bring out the contrasting beauty found between the blackish green of natural glaze carbonized in an anagama (cave) kiln and the white interior with traces of brushing and rose-colored gohonte (spots).

  • 1979 Studied under SATO Hosen
  • 1987 Established an anagama kiln and started production of ceramics in Tanegashima, Kagoshima Prefecture
  • 1989 Established his kiln in Yakuoji, Koga City
