About the Artwork

The walls of Kanazawa Castle are called "namako (sea cucumber) walls", which are walls covered with square tiles jointed with raised plaster. I formed the vessel like a castle and depicted the walls using multilayer inlays of 4 kinds of copper and silver alloy to express the tiles that have changed color over the years.
