  • Hard soldering

Hard soldering (hagiawase) is a technique used join together different types of metal sheet. The technique makes it possible to create metalwork with striped or patchwork patterns. Once joined, the artisan may continue to shape the metal with a hammer.

The theme of my work is "lines". The appearance of lines of the same width can change by their shape. I wanted to express the interesting movements the different shaped lines create and combined them with metal colors. I also added hammered patterns so that one can feel gentleness within an air of tension and warmth inside the metal.
