About the Artwork
This pendant and earrings set is designed to beautifully complement each piece when worn together.
One side of the pendant features the intricate Somata motif, meticulously crafted with pure gold and abalone shell, while the other side showcases carefully selected, naturally pink portions of great green turban shell. Fully reversible, both sides can be worn as the front face to perfectly match the occasion or your outfit. Furthermore, the pendant is fitted with a generously sized bail, allowing you to easily swap it with your favorite chain to enjoy an entirely different ambiance.
The earrings feature K18 white gold (K18WG) fixtures and mirror the pendant's design, capturing the Somata motif in pure gold and abalone shell to create a perfectly harmonized and striking aesthetic.

Techniques Used
Mother-of-pearl inlay (Raden)
Mother-of-pearl inlay (Raden) is a decorative technique that uses the iridescent inner layer of abalone shell, turban shell, pearl oyster shell, or other mollusk shells. The technique came to Japan from China 1,300 years ago, and pieces featuring mother-of-pearl inlay are included among the artifacts at the Shōsōin Repository in Nara.
