About the Artwork
I can feel the silver vine thriving when the mountain starts getting covered with white leaves. When having a closer look, its flowers and fruits are also fascinating. I designed this box to express such thoughts.

Techniques Used
Chinkin
For chinkin (“sunken gold”), a chisel or knife is used to incise lines and dots into a lacquered surface. Gold leaf or fine gold powder is then inlaid into the grooves, creating a fine and delicate design.
