Comment on Award
There are four rivers in Takamatsu where I live, and they all flow into the Seto Inland Sea. As I enjoyed the movement of the waves at the mouth of the river, I used it as the design for this piece. I used dry lacquer to form a base to make it easier to express the movement of the waves. I applied approximately 50 layers of gradations of indigo, green and white colored lacquer, and carved it to depict the movement of the waves.
