About the Artwork
I tried to express the silhouette of morning glories blurred in the dense fog on an early morning in late autumn. I expressed the blurriness by tapping on urushi lacquer 70 times to make a white - purple gradation and lightly carved the morning glories. I gave it a matte finish to express the tense and crisp atmosphere.
