Comment on Award
The ocean that I see in the distance is the Seto Inland Sea that can be seen from my hometown Kagawa, and is also the ocean connected to the work overseas that I am currently working on. On the top of the cover, I carved the waves three dimensionally using the urushi carving technique. On the inside of the box, there are seagulls flying. As a seagull is a symbol of a "pioneer opening a new path to his dreams", I superimposed my own future path on the seagulls.
Encouraged by this award, I would like to continue making attractive artwork that touch people's hearts.
