Overglaze colors (uwa enogu) are paints used to draw patterns on the surface of a fired vessel. It is made of glass powder and colors, and after it is applied, the vessel is fired again to fix the colors. It is used to create a gorgeous finish using bright colors and gold, such as in Kutani ware and Imari ware.
