Rumi Kotani

Style

I produce reversible figured double weave textiles using the gradation of colors and the progression of shapes. I try to weave the textiles to bring out the soft texture of delicate silk threads.

    Born in Tokyo

    Completed her Master’s Degree in Dyeing and Weaving at the Research Institute of Art and Design, Kanazawa College of Art
    Produced works in various fields, from art to interior goods
  • 2001
    Established her studio in Beppu City, Oita Prefecture
    Mainly producing Kimono works in recent years
